In this exhibition, Conrad Armstrong presents a series of new work that
is an amalgamation of different methods of spatial and temporal
orientation. Clocks, compasses, the built world and the natural world a…re
combined to form works that aim to simultaneously orient and disorient.
By using different approaches to color, perspective, the picture plane,
and the process of art-making itself, this show intends to put formal
artistic language to use in service to the human experience of being
subject to the flow of time, the experience of space, and
trans-dimensional interconnectedness. The show is intended to be a
temporary marker in the seamless and infinitely divisible fabric of
reality that science, philosophy, religion, and the arts have been
struggling to explain for centuries. Either that, or it's just a bunch
of paintings. You decide.
