Zveme na další ze série komentovaných projekcí Videogram, věnovaných prezentacím současných podob pohyblivého obrazu. Hostem bude tentokrát polský publicista a filmový kritik Jakub Majmurek.

Přednáška bude zaměřena na téma kinematografického obratu ve současném polském umění. Jakub Majmurek a Łukasz Ronduda tento fenomén popsali v publikaci Polish Cine Art, která slouží také jako manifest a první pokus popsat teritorium sdílené polskou kinematografií i současným uměním. Zatímco existuje mnoho vizuálních umělců, kteří ve své praxi využívají film, existuje jasný rozdíl mezi užitím těchto děl v oblasti galerijního prostředí a kinematografického průmyslu. Přesto se objevilo jen několik umělců – režisérů, kteří se přenesli z prostoru galerie i na plátna kin. Publikace pojednává o vybraných filmech vizuálních umělců Anny a Wilhelma Sasnala, Zbigniewa Libery, Oskara Dawickeho, Normana Leta, Anny Molskej, Agnieszky Polskej nebo Katarzyny Kozyry.

Jakub Majmurek je filmový kritik, politický publicista a esejista. Je spoluautorem publikací "Dzieje grzechu. Surrealizm w kinie polskim" a "Boro L'Isle de lAmour". Łukasz Ronduda je historik umění a kurátor, pracující v Muzeu Sztuki Nowoczesnej ve Varšavě. Je editorem a autorem několika publikací a režisérem (společně s M. Sobieszczanskim) filmu "Performer".

Prezentace se uskuteční v anglickém jazyce.

We are inviting you on next from Videogram series of commented screenings; the series is devoted to presentation of contemporary forms of moving image. For this time, the guest is an Polish publicist and film critic Jakub Majmurek.

The lecture deals with topic of cinematic turn in Polish contemporary art. Jakub Majmurek and Łukasz Ronduda describes this phenomenon in their publication Polish Cine Art, which is both a manifesto and the first attempt to describe territory shared by Polish cinema and contemporary art. While there are a great deal of visual artists who utilize film in their practice, there’s a clear distinction between employment of this medium in the field of fine art and in the cinematic industry. Still, there have been just a few artists-turned-directors who made the successful leap from the gallery space to the cinema screen. Publication discuss selected films made by visual artists, Anna and Wilhelm Sasnal, Zbigniew Libera, Oskar Davicki, Normal Leto, Anna Molska, Agnieszka Polska or Katarzyna Kozyra.

Jakub Majmurek is a film and art critic, political columnist, and writer. Co-author of books such as "Story of Sin. Surrealism in Polish Cinema" and "Boro L'Isle de lAmour". Łukasz Ronduda is an art historian and curator working for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Editor and author of numerous books, including "Polish New-Wave". Director (together with M. Sobieszczanski) of the movie "Performer".
