Beata Kurucz – Invincible Invisibility

The exhibition of the painter Beata Kurucz at Walk Thru Gallery contains many strange moments, sometimes even mystically suggestive meanings, realized with a very modern technique. The leading motif of the site-specific painting is undoubtedly the symbolism of the transformation of life. Its strength and vulnerability are reflected in paradoxes, just like a levitating knife in flames whose blade has turned into a feather in a cold showcase. The idea of hidden essences that can be discerned primarily through intuition finds its basis as early as the end of the 19th century in Symbolism. The layers that the author turns into an existential struggle in the course of her work are an important driving force and naturally an inherent personal signature. Underground, while listening to music, the painter literally created paintings under both hands that are bound together by the magic number seven. In the seven showcases we thus discover symbols of protection, struggle or hidden mystical representations. Invincible invisibility transcends the physical senses. The colourful spectrum of symbols and abstract contexts, together with the present music, open up other planes of imagination and the exhibition takes on the air of a happening painting.

Výstava malířky Beaty Kurucz ve Walk Thru Gallery v sobě skrývá mnoho podivuhodných momentů, místy až mysticko sugestivních významů, realizovaných velmi moderní technikou. Vůdčím motivem vytvořené site-specific malby je bezesporu symbolismus transformace života. Jeho síla i zranitelnost se odráží v paradoxech stejně, jako levitující nůž v plamenech, jehož ostří se v chladné vitríně proměnilo v pírko. Myšlenka o skrytých podstatách, které lze rozpoznat primárně cestou intuice svůj základ nalézá již na konci 19. století právě v symbolismu. Vrstvy, které autorka v průběhu tvorby proměňuje v existenciální zápas jsou důležitou hybnou silou a přirozeně i neodmyslitelným osobním rukopisem. V podzemí, při poslechu hudby, malířce doslova pod oběma rukama vznikla malba obrazů, které v celek pojí magické číslo sedm. V sedmi vitrínách tak objevíme symboly ochrany, boje či skrytá mystická zobrazení. Neporazitelná neviditelnost totiž přesahuje fyzické smysly. Barevné spektrum znaků i abstraktních souvislostí spolu s přítomnou hudbou divákům otevírají další roviny fantazie a výstava dostává nádech happeningové malby.
