The photographic image takes on different shapes and forms depending on the technique used and the chosen basis or source. Isabelle Arthuis has always treated photography as a medium that allows new situations to be created, that enables the development of new relationships to people: given circumstances and places. Photographs enlarged and installed in the exterior of urban spaces once again create fragile bonds to the world, just as images/paintings had done earlier in interiors.
As part of Prague’s Fotograf Festival (Off Limits) a selection of photographs will be shown in part at the French Institute in Prague, and partly at outside gallery spaces – directly on the city streets.
