Vectors & Visions
Školská 28, 110 00 Praha 1
This lecture will focus on the work of Alex Williams and Nick Srnicek's work Reinventing The Future that primarily calls for an "accelerationist politics at ease with a modernity of abstraction, complexity, globality and technology." Surveying thinkers aligned with the dromological vector of Accelerationism, questions emerge as to how concepts of Politics, Representation, and Technology can be refashioned and through what means and towards what ends? Srnicek and William's program emphasizes harnessing the potentials of Universal Basic Income, Automated Labor, and technologies to serve as a rallying point to generate strategies, designs, and platforms that enable navigating and transforming the contemporary Neoliberal terrain. Fundamentally, the question focused here becomes what visions are needed to arise to propels us out of a stagnated and asphyxiating present "towards a future that must be cracked open once again, unfastening our horizons towards the universal possibilities of the Outside."
