"In my project, I deal with the concept of emptiness as a phenomenon that is both physical and existential. I am inspired by the scientific understanding of the void as an in-between space - a region without matter, an empty space between the filaments of galaxies, but I also see it as a universal condition that reaches into the inner world of man. For me, the void is a paradox: a space in which everything and nothing are at the same time. Not as absence, but as the presence of the absent. In my visual approach I work with extreme minimalism. I reduce the form, suppressing recognizable signs of reality and leaving only hints. The objects I depict are suppressed into shadow or swallowed by black - they become visual gaps. They appear as visual holes in the picture, hiding something instead of showing something. The void here is not a background, but an active factor. For me, photography becomes a medium that makes visible the invisible - the boundary between what still exists and what is already falling apart. Void is my attempt to capture the presence of absence."
Kristina Kiliková (*2002) is a student of the Master's degree at the Photography Studio at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. She uses the medium of photography as an exploratory tool - a laboratory of visual and thought experimentation, combining the scientific with the imaginative, where photographs cease to be documents and become visual evidence of internal processes. His work systematically explores themes of corporeality, identity, internal transformation and the stratification of reality. He does not focus on a realistic representation of the world, but on its reinterpretation. He uses the methods of manipulation, fragmentation or microscopic gaze in order to disrupt the traditional perception of the image and move it to the level of an intermedia object. As a result, he creates image structures that can be perceived as introspective archives of consciousness or fragmented traces of experience and bodily experience. Among her most significant achievements is the V4 Award for the presentation of the Fractus project at the OFF festival Bratislava 2024. She has also participated in the collective exhibition at the Gočárov Gallery in Pardubice, New (n-)emotions, at the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín, New (n)emotions, and in collective exhibitions at Photogether Gallery Zlín.
