7+1: A Collector's Apartment
25. 09. 2026 11:30–17:30
8smička – zóna pro umění / Humpolec
Housing from the era of the textile boom to contemporary villa architecture with Jana Fišarová Strejčková.
Intensive development of the area began as early as the 1930s, when, for example, the Komrs Villa was built here for the director of the Smrček family’s textile factories. Alongside buildings from the First Republic era, we also find examples of single-family homes typical of the 1970s, as well as the now nearly iconic “homemade” rebar and cinder block fences, which contribute to the distinctive character of the entire neighborhood.
The hilly terrain has also given rise to striking buildings that make use of the slope —for example, the GlassHouse by OK PLAN ARCHITECTS or the 1964 house that Schwestern transformed into a weekend home with minimal alterations to the original exterior envelope.
Limited capacity; reservations at info@8smicka.cz.
The event is part of Architecture Day.
