The Art Heroes workshop is a space for collaborative creation open to anyone aged 7–11. We draw inspiration from the world around us and from our shared experiences. The Rudolfinum Gallery is our safe haven for dreaming and weekly gatherings. It also serves as the starting point from which we set out to explore the world around us.

This year, we’ll explore a wide variety of art techniques, materials, and landscapes themselves. We’ll delve beneath the surface of our own imaginations, drawing inspiration from the places where we come from, where we meet, and where we can always return. Over the course of the year, we’ll progress from sketches on paper through movement to creating sculptures. We’ll explore land art, discover what kinds of works we can exhibit in a gallery, and learn what materials we can use to create them. We’ll be working with magnifying glasses, pencils, wire, metal sheets, and sticks. The workshop is open to anyone who isn’t afraid to experiment and get a little dirty while creating. The gallery will provide us with space for both a leisurely pace and active excursions outdoors.

Our workshop will be enriched by a major art event: the opening of the exhibition Crested / mâcistan: Tanya Lukin Linklater and Duane Linklater, which showcases two leading artists from North America’s First Nations who jointly explore questions of belonging to cultural heritage, the cycle of knowledge, and collective memory.

Who is this workshop for?
Children ages 7 to 11 (for older children and teenagers, there is a workshop at ART STARS).

When is the workshop held?
Every Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, from September 22, 2026, through June 22, 2027.

How will the workshop end?
After the end of the first semester on February 16, 2027, a children’s exhibition opening will take place at the Galerie Rudolfinum Artpark, where workshop participants will be able to present the art they’ve created.

Instructors

Laura Hédervári earned her bachelor’s degree from the Animation and Film Studio and completed her master’s degree last year at the Illustration and Graphic Design Studio at UMPRUM. In her work, she enjoys experimenting with various materials and techniques, which allows her to collaborate on a wide range of projects, from illustration to shadow projections. She is actively involved in gallery education and has been collaborating with the Rudolfinum Gallery since 2023.

Františka Iblová is an illustrator who graduated from UMPRUM in Prague from the Studio of Illustration and Graphic Design. She has completed internships at the Studio of Audiovisual Studies at FAMU, the Sculpture Studio at UMPRUM, and the Painting Studio at ASFA in Athens. In her work, she likes to capture stories that go beyond the human experience, set within the interconnected web of life on Earth. She is interested in the fragility of the world and the details we usually overlook. Her work is primarily based on illustration and drawing; she perceives her surroundings through a sketchbook, which she always keeps close at hand. She also works in textile art, installations, research, and modest activism. She is a member of the Knedlík collective, which focuses on the slow building of community and friendship.
