The exhibition Wherever You Look presents works by Dorota Sadovská in which the protagonists literally look somewhere else. They avert their gaze, sometimes voluntarily, sometimes because they must; they hide their faces.

Through this change of perspective and by disrupting conventional modes of representation, Sadovská unsettles us as viewers, quite literally prompting us to engage with the work and to reflect on the meanings that emerge from it. We are encouraged to enter the space between what is seen and what is imagined. We respond to the work, which becomes a symbolic, silent witness to people’s intimate, unspoken acts.
