What does photography actually mean today in a world where images are created and interpreted not only by people, but also by algorithms and machines? The exhibition project METANOIA by Slovak photographer Ema Lančaričová explores the current transformation of the photographic medium at the intersection of analog and digital imagery. The artist experiments with instant photography, artificial intelligence, computer vision, augmented reality, and security cameras, and also turns her attention to what we normally do not see behind the seemingly immaterial digital image—the data, the technological infrastructure, and the processes that determine how images are created, circulated, and perceived.
