Intensities of the Body

Galerie FM / Frýdek-Místek
The exhibition Intensities of the Body opens up a space in which art becomes a means of exploring the fragile and multifaceted experience of the body. The image transforms into a field of relationships between the internal and the external, the shared and the intimate, matter and sensitivity. The artists’ work moves between figuration and abstraction and presents painting as a thoroughly intimate medium in which memory, emotion, and perception converge.
Bronislava Orlická directly reflects the state of contemporary visual and emotional overload and exposes the viewer to reduced sensory perceptions. Using compact forms, harmonious colors, and rhythmic structures, she creates spaces of sensory calm. Here, paintings, objects, and installations become a form of care, a place of grounding and collective sharing.
The paintings of Blanka Bártová on the contrary, lead to movement and oscillation between the physical and the dreamlike, the known and the sensed. On the one hand, the artist emphasizes the structure and signature of the painting; on the other, through the ethereal lightness of watercolor, she opens up a space for an internally sensed reality that remains untouchable.
At the center of Pavla Krkošková's attention are visual diary entries of her immediate surroundings. Through photographs, motion drawings, and color sketches, she captures the presence of her loved ones and balances between sharing the image and preserving intimate privacy.
Beyond the visual plane, the exhibition extends into haptic and spatial installations.
