We cordially invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition, which showcases the work of Jan Vytiska, a Czech painter who blends elements of rural folklore, pop-surrealism, and B-movie horror aesthetics.

Vytiska’s characters inhabit a landscape that may resemble a mountainous countryside. Here, however, humans are not the center of everything. Alongside them stand animals, creatures with human bodies but animal heads, both domesticated and wild. It is as if Vytiska were creating his own mythology.

On September 23, exhibition curator Andrea Krejčí will guide you through this mythology. She will place the artworks in the broader context of the art world, shed light on their meaning, and also reveal more about the artist and his other works.
