Libuše Kopůncová and Jan Schulz – Synergy of Timelessness

The exhibition Synergy of Timelessness connects the work of Libuše Kopůncová and Jan Schulz through wood, sheep wool and textile objects in a multimedia installation. The landscape is not represented here, but constructed as a field of experience in which the relationship between time, body and material is considered.

The objects and structures create a layered environment at the boundary between the organic and the constructed, in which the material becomes a carrier of memory and transformation. The installation is accompanied by a video of a performative ritual that works with the same attributes present in the exhibition space to develop its meaning.

The piece functions as an interconnected system where image, sound and object interpenetrate each other to create a situation of slowed down, focused perception. A live performance will open the exhibition, which activates this principle in real time.

Jan Schulz is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Brno University of Technology. His work lies between image and object. He works with woodcarving, most often drawing inspiration for his work from medieval sacral decoration, to which he adds the context of the current social situation.

Libuše Kopůncová is a visual artist and performer whose work is at the border of installation, video performance and scenography. Her works explore the relationship between body, painting, space and sound. She creates atmospheric worlds in which the viewer becomes an active part of the action.
