Zlatka and Hanuš Lamr – We Are in the Garden
21. 03. 2026 - 28. 09. 2026
Mezi Mosty 436, 530 03 Pardubice
The artistic collective Ferst Dadler with Loré Lixenberg, offers participation in the performative event Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika, held in the garden space of the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA) from June 18 to 21, 2026, as well as participation in a performative gathering on the founding of this republic a ˈkonfɛrɛnt͡sɛ, taking place from June 23 to 25, 2026 at Divadlo 29.
Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika is a rhizomatic, nomadic garden-republic, that traverses sites, first founded in the Franciscan Garden, subsequently migrated to Troja gardens both in Prague, and June finds expression in garden of GAMPA Pardubice.
Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika invites participants to co-create a space in which listening becomes a shared civic practice. The project encourages participants to imagine alternative ways of being together. In this republic, sound, movement, attention, and collective imagination become tools for reflecting on how humans and non-humans might coexist. The project emerges from the ongoing artistic research of the collective Ferst Dadler & Loré Lixenberg, which focuses on citizenship, materiality, participation, and practices of care.
The project then continues in the form of an staged ˈkonfɛrɛnt͡sɛ at Divadlo 29, in which the republic is discussed in sound, music, movement and intense listening. Here, audience members become delegates participating in a conference on the founding of the republic itself. The aim is to share the core values of the newly formed republic with the audience and to debate its future.
The open call for the upcoming project Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika is addressed to everyone—not only artists, but also gardeners, thinkers, performers, neighbours, musicians, and others. All are welcomed. No specific prior experience is required from applicants, only an interest in experimental and participatory forms of contemporary practice.
Participants are invited to the adventure of jointly creating Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika at GAMPA: a living performative environment shaped by sound, movement, dialogue, and shared attention. Rather than following a fixed script, the republic emerges through encounters among participants, through listening—to one another, to the garden space, and to its inhabitants. The environment of the republic is formed as much by human interactions as by natural processes. Weather, soil, insects, and voices all share in the agency of shaping how gatherings arise and how decisions take form.
During the sessions, participants will engage in a series of workshops led by voice and sound artist Loré Lixenberg together with members of the Ferst Dadler collective, including dancer and performer Inga Zotova-Mikshina and percussionist and composer Elia Moretti.
The working language is primarily English with simultaneous translation into Czech.
Participants are encouraged to take part in the full workshop period so that the collective process can fully unfold, although partial participation may be discussed individually.
