We invite you to the closing event of the residency and the presentation of the project The Wishing Table by Polish visual artist Konrad Gubała.

In this project, Gubała explores collective memory and traces of personal stories hidden in everyday objects. By visiting local flea markets, antique shops, and secondhand stores, he searches for discarded furniture and old materials, from which he then creates a series of experimental, partly functional, and partly symbolic sculptures. The work does not use new raw materials but is based on recycling and empathy toward objects with their own past. The result of the residency is thus not a traditional static exhibition, but a constantly evolving archive of found memories and material transformation.

Konrad Gubała (*1999), a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, creates objects, sculptures, and installations, often using techniques such as engraving and polishing with abrasive paste. In his work, he reflects on the memory of materials, social uncertainty, and themes of his own origins. Although he jokingly describes himself as a “celebrator of failure,” his achievements include a special prize at Warsaw Gallery Weekend 2024 and a spot in the finals of the Bielska Jesień 2025 painting biennial.
