Vendula Váňová is a graduate of painting at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava under the guidance of František Kowolowski. She is currently a resident of Open Studios in Ostrava 2025/2026.

In her paintings she deals with the themes of memory, inner and outer worlds, drawing on philosophical texts such as Ponty, Bachelard, Bergson and others. In her earlier work, she dealt with place and landscape, which she transformed into abstract positions. Now she adds to these places, which keep appearing in her paintings, the memory records of the real environment.
