Victor Vasarely was a visionary of modern art who changed the way we perceive an image forever. He is considered the founder of op-art – an optical art that works with illusion, movement and tension in the surface. His iconic geometric compositions pulsate before our eyes, as if breathing their own rhythm. Fascinated by science, technology and system, Vasarely explored the relationship between shape and colour, the transformation of space and visual perception. His paintings are not only an aesthetic experience, but also an intellectual game: they force the viewer to move, to seek new perspectives, to engage the senses and the brain. He worked with mathematical precision, but also with an eye for the visual power of simplicity. The circle, the square, the grid – the basic shapes come alive in his hands.
