The exhibition Caught by Branches / Zachytit se větví presents various artistic responses to themes related to the relationship between humans and nature. This international collaboration among fourteen artists brings site-specific installations, paintings, sculptures, and performances to the castle building and its immediate surroundings. The artworks will enliven the castle’s interior—which bears traces of both its original architecture and modern layers of utilitarian use—as well as the adjacent park. They will thus offer a reflection on the interconnected relationship between humans and (urban) nature and will also focus on nature’s influence on processes of regeneration and healing.

The exhibition Caught by Branches presents various artistic responses to themes related to the relationship between humans and nature. The common inspiration is the genius loci of the Baroque Veleslavín Castle, which was converted into a sanatorium more than a century ago and, even under state administration, served medical purposes until the recent past. Given the dynamic development of the surrounding neighborhoods, the castle grounds are now the only undeveloped green space in the wider vicinity of this bustling city.
