Cimezura mituri

The group exhibition entitled Cimezura mituri brings together six artists and recent graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts – Maria Dobešová, Ekaterina Gordeladze, Eva Klečková, Darina Molatová, Jitka Petrášová and Katerina Št'astná.

The theme that connects their work is the perception of the passage of time and the changes that accompany it. Passage – sometimes stealthy and barely perceptible, sometimes painful and obvious – is the basic motif of the exhibition.

The title Cimezura mituri is a mysterious phrase that appeared to Jitka Petrášová in a dream. It may seem like a corruption of the words "mezura" (duration) and "mituri" (traditional Korean straw shoes), but it also evokes the word "gap". This linguistic and semantic uncertainty captures the very nature of the exhibition – the artists' diverse approaches naturally intersect at times, at others they pass each other by. Together, however, they create a space for contemplation of time, the present and what escapes our gaze.
