The exhibition After Light connects the museum’s design subcollection with the work of designer Michaela Doležalová, a graduate of the Glass Studio at UMPRUM in Prague.

Under the brand Jasna, Michaela focuses on sustainable interior lighting design, which she creates using paper she produces herself. And that is precisely why one of the museum’s halls will once again be transformed into a workshop, this time focused on the creation and processing of original paper.

Accompanying activities designed for both children and adults will be an essential part of the exhibition project. They will include not only the process of making paper pulp and lighting fixtures, but also a group collection of raw materials (local plants or waste materials such as orange peels). As a result, the exhibition will be more accessible to children and young people, offering an interactive space to explore the boundaries between light and darkness, design, and fine art.

The connecting theme between the present and the past from the museum’s collection will be light—not only in its natural laws and seasonal changes, but also as an everyday part of life through lamps, light fixtures, and a wide variety of light-emitting objects. Another important component of the exhibition will be the process of recycling and the opportunity for an unconventional exploration of the immediate surroundings.
