An exhibition by American visual artist and photographer Loreal Prystaj.

Hypnopompic is a state on the threshold of waking, when images, feelings, and memories emerge from dreams into consciousness before we have time to name them. Metaphorically speaking, these are sensations that have vanished from the surface but still linger beneath the surface of memory. The human body, composed largely of water, transforms at that moment into a living landscape—Atlantis—where experiences are stored, dissolve, and resurface.  As the medium of both dreams and memory, water carries traces of what has been lost, while salt and crystal capture the moment when an intangible experience takes on a concrete form.

Loreal Prystaj (*1990) captures this experience through photography, moving images, installations, and performance. Her work has been exhibited in London, Paris, Arles, Milan, Tokyo, New York, and Athens. She has received numerous prestigious international awards and nominations.
