Gesamtkunstwerk of the world of bikes and puppet film by Patrik Trska. A ride on a favourite, on a treadmill, on a hospital bed, amongst the wheels and parts in the repair shop on the walls of Xao gallery.

Ciao Biciclette! is a mini-opera drama on film. More specifically, in a film with a water puppet combined with a painted background and rear projection. We peek live into these scenes, into the main character Joseph's garage where he lovingly repairs his bicycles, into the living room where he and his Miss Marie train on the exercise bike, or into the hospital where Joseph sadly ends up. In the miniature cans or hospital food or the exact miniature of the Favorit bicycle, we can admire the artist's craftsmanship and sense of design wit.

Patrik Trska (*1996) graduated from the Animation and Film Production Studio at Umprum in Prague. In his work as an animator he explores new techniques in the combination of the craft base with computer backgrounds or post-production. He sculpts, paints, draws, engraves linocuts, creates clay or paper mashes. He also does graphic design, but always in conjunction with his illustration. Often these works are for cycling events or music bands. For his diploma thesis Ciao Biciclette!, he received the Rector's Award of UMPRUM 2024.
