Time is reflected indifferently in art. It sprinkles itself with it like sand in an hourglass, leaving more or less visible traces that reveal the secret of its passage - relativity.

In Šarka Koudelová's work, the relationship with the passing of time becomes extraordinarily intense - it thickens. Like dream catchers, her paintings, sculptures and objects act as filters that hold larger fragments of time within them. The ingeniously woven historical references that the artist eloquently recalls in her works create a web of meanings and quotations. The flow of time settles on them and evokes a familiar sense of déjà vu, a kind of looping in which we realize how much what we call time depends on ourselves.

The first part of the Three Stigmata series opens with a narrative of time that, as in Philip K. Dick and in the art of Šarka Koudelová - plays a key role. For the purposes of the exhibition, an installation has been created that refers to the environment of the Red Planet, where a day - called Sol on Mars - lasts slightly longer than an Earthly one.

Šárka Koudelová studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she graduated in 2016 under the tutelage of Vladimír Skrepl, and also completed a residency at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna. Her work focuses on the relationship between man and time, which she connects with historical, cultural and material references. Her paintings, objects and installations place her in a tension between intimate details and large-scale environments, reflecting on themes such as ecology, decolonization and motherhood.

She has exhibited at GAMPA Pardubice (2025), Pragovka Gallery (2024), Fait Gallery in Brno (2019), as well as at institutions abroad in Vienna, Düsseldorf and on the Greek island of Kastellorizo. She often combines the roles of artist and curator, looking for new forms of collaboration and perceiving art as an inclusive process coming from different positions. She was co-founder of k.art.on gallery (2012-2015) and since 2018 she has been curator in residence at Studio Prám in Prague.
