In all its projects, 4AM platform takes a critical look at professional issues related to architecture, urbanism, contemporary audiovisual culture and socio-political and cultural phenomena in general. The emphasis is on interdisciplinarity, problematizing current social phenomena and open collaboration with individual authors and creative collectives and institutions.

The 4AM collective has been exploring its ideas and visions related to architecture, public space and art as a tool for communicating important social issues since its inception - both in the Brno Architecture Gallery (2011-2012) and in the following years, when it was based in the former (but now again current) train station on Rosická Street in Brno (2012-2014).

The PRAHA/Forum for Architecture and Media cultural space was created in 2014 as a response to the Moravian Gallery's call to open the state institution's spaces to the public and bring everyday life to the courtyard of Pražák Palace. The 4AM association, made up of experts from the fields of architecture, art theory and free creation, decided to create a barrier-free cultural space in the former restoration workshop, which will connect various institutions, urban subcultures and visitors from the professional and general public.

The emphasis on critical thinking and a willingness to constantly re-evaluate one's own positions defined the architectural design itself, in which variability and maximum functionality for different types of cultural and artistic events play a crucial role. Even though PRAHA was also a gallery café with a regular daily operation, its programme dramaturgy was always clearly defined by the professional specialisation and opinion orientation of the 4AM members. After five years of intensive daily operation and more than a thousand events, important meetings, artist residencies and author installations, the members of the association decided to close the operation of PRAHA in the courtyard of Pražák Palace at the end of 2019.

In 2020, 4AM will move its activities to the space at ul. Mášova Street in Brno, where its office and professional library are located. In addition to activities in this physical space, many of the projects of 4AM and its partners will take place in a virtual environment, where there will be an opportunity to share them with a much wider audience.
