The exhibition space of the Alternativa gallery is intended for the presentation of current artistic approaches. It is open to all types of art, focusing primarily on projects that bring alternative points of view to artistic creation, experimenting with a given medium, expanding the exhibition format and seeking new forms and ways of communicating with the audience.

Alternativa Gallery began its activities in 2005 with the intention of presenting mainly the work of young, often not yet well-known, artists. It tried to create a certain counterbalance to the traditionally presented art of older and recognized artists. Attention was also paid to projects presenting art that was in some way related to the region. Today, the concept of exhibition space is no longer defined by the age of the artist or the territory. The projects presented are selected by a committee from proposals submitted following an open call.
