Basement Project is a cultural organizational and community platform that was established at the Department of Art Education in the premises of the Art Centre of Palacký University in Olomouc in 2019, where it still operates as a registered association.

It aims to offer a cultural programme to the general and professional public through regular exhibitions of contemporary art in the Basement Gallery and an accompanying programme including various forms of gallery education, lectures, talks, platforms for discussion and creation, and presentations by artists and interesting personalities from culture. The long-term dramaturgical concept is directed towards young and established artists, artists and art groups who use contemporary art forms to express themselves on current social themes and issues.

In 2023, Basement Project grew to include Basement Studio, located at 35 Dobrovského Street in Olomouc. It is a space dedicated to exhibitions as well as lectures, discussions, workshops and other cultural programmes. In the near future, this space will expand to include a residential studio, which is located in the courtyard of the same building.
