Kukačka is an Ostrava-based platform for the presentation of contemporary art inspired by the nesting parasitism of cuckoos. Its aim is primarily to define and apply socially and culturally innovative practices and strategies in partial artistic interventions. Kukačka is intensely concerned with the question of the social role of art, its ambitions and its ability to establish a mutual dialogue outside the "cloister" of the white gallery cube. In a broader context, it also thematizes the contemporary contradiction between the need of artists to comment on the current state of affairs and the willingness of the audience to listen to them.
