The Gallery of Fine Arts in Náchod was founded in 1966 and was a continuation of the town's picture gallery opened to the public in 1934. The Náchod Gallery is located in the building of the former castle riding hall. In 1978-1983 it was rebuilt according to the project of ing. arch. Josef Wagner for the needs of the gallery, thus creating a timeless, barrier-free exhibition space, one of the most impressive in the Czech Republic.

The most important part of the gallery's collection consists of works of Russian painting from the 19th and early 20th centuries, which are usually made available as part of exhibitions. In addition, the gallery focuses on Czech art with a focus on the region and also has an interesting collection of 16th-20th century European art. It also focuses on all the main fields of contemporary art.

The gallery prepares extensive thematic and solo exhibitions, which are often accompanied by specialist publications or monographs. Every year at the end of the season, it organizes a showcase of regional art in the form of a salon or competition. Since 2010, the exhibition cycle Artists under 40 has been running. Educational programmes for children, youth and adults are held throughout the year. There are also regular art workshops, guided tours, online lectures, workshops, concerts, festivals, etc. for the general public.

Since 2022, the gallery has been using an experimental space in Španiel Passage in Náchod called GVUN Malá, where contemporary action art exhibitions, installations, performances, etc.
