We are a small, student-run gallery, located in the warehouse space of Malba 1 on the first floor of the Academy of Fine Arts – hence the name. The whole project was conceived as an opportunity to give students and recent graduates from the Academy of Fine Arts and elsewhere the chance to try out exhibiting in a specific space, as well as to enrich the cultural life at the Academy with additional opportunities for students to meet people "from the outside" at social events such as our openings. We have been running since 2017 and try to improve and learn something with each exhibition. The ambition of the gallery is not to have a unified, curated programme of ideas, but to create a diverse showcase of the most interesting people who are not so often exhibited but deserve to be.
