KodlContemporary continues the Kodl family’s long-standing gallery, collecting and patronage tradition, which dates back to the last century.

KodlContemporary is a contemporary art gallery located in the historic center of Prague, focused on art from Central and Eastern Europe. Building on the 130-year legacy of the family-owned Kodl Gallery, it provides a platform for emerging and established artists who explore the social, political and cultural conditions shaping the region today. Its program emphasizes conceptually rigorous practices, experimentation with materials and a critical engagement with the historical layers that shape local artistic discourse. Founded in 2017, the gallery seeks to consolidate its role in the Czech commercial art sector while simultaneously placing Czech and international artists in broader historical and global narratives. After years of operating in parallel with the KODL Gallery, KodlContemporary moved in 2025 to a newly designed space in the center of Prague with a characteristic exhibition space in the shape of a glass cube, thereby strengthening the visibility of Czech contemporary art abroad.
