Moravian Gallery is expanding its location with a new building, changing its motto from "5 buildings 1 gallery" to "6 buildings 1 gallery". The new depository in the former military barracks in Brno-Rečkovice will not only be used to store collections of modern, contemporary and applied art, but will also be open to the public. The aim is to offer a new type of experience with art, where visitors will get a glimpse into the daily operation of the museum and see how the collections are cared for, digitised, cleaned and conserved by experts.

This innovative approach to the presentation of the collections will allow, for example, to see the entire collection of Oriental art, which has not been publicly available until now. The Open Depository will offer guided tours and workshops that will introduce the work of museum professionals and reinforce the cultural significance of this new building in the Řečkovice district.
