Museum of Art Olomouc is a state contributory organization with a long tradition. Its main research project focusing on the Central European region and its cultural specifics – the Central European Forum (SEFO) – was established on 20 June 2008 with the support of the Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad Group countries. The museum manages the third largest public collection of modern and contemporary art in the Czech Republic, which includes important artists and groups active in the region, including Victor Vasarely, Ipartretv Group, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Milan Knížák and Terry Haass. Their presentation is served by a separate online platform CEAD.space, but above all it is intended for the newly built exhibition space, the largest 3D print in the world, designed by Jan Šépka. MUO-SEFO is the only state institution operating in the Czech Republic whose acquisition policy is directly aimed at contextualising Central European art.
