The West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen is one of the most important gallery institutions in the Czech Republic. Its collections cover the period from the 14th century to the present day and, in addition to individual top works, contain high-quality collections of 19th century art, turn-of-the-century art and Czech Modernism, including a particularly valuable collection of Cubism. The collection currently comprises over 10,000 works.

The West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen uses two historic buildings in the city centre for exhibition purposes - the former medieval market hall, since 1972 the exhibition hall "Meat Shops", and the reconstructed Gothic-Renaissance house no. 13 in Pražská Street, the so-called "13" exhibition hall.

The demanding exhibition programme, publishing activities and the quality of the collections rank the West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen among the most important museums and galleries in the country. It presents short-term exhibition projects in its exhibition halls.
