The central theme of the exhibition Double-Hearted is the ambivalence and tension of today’s hybrid reality. Today’s world is oversaturated with possibilities — we find ourselves paralyzed, unable to make decisions on our own — losing our autonomy. The motif of the divided or split heart functions here as a metaphor for the instability and indecisiveness of identity, which gradually fragments as a result of constant movement in an unknown environment.

The exhibition presents the diploma projects of students from the Studio of Photography at the Faculty of Design and Art, University of West Bohemia, which explore this entry into the unknown and the subsequent processes of self-determination that arise from it.
