The exhibition Disrupted Horizon presents a painterly cross-section of works that straddle the line between construction and decay. Fragments of construction sites, landscapes and ruins are assembled into paintings where reality is slightly skewed. In their backgrounds, a loss of orientation emerges – a moment when faith disappears and what remains is a quiet wandering through the space between what has not been completed and what has already disappeared.

Alexey Klyuykov (*1983) is a visual artist and illustrator. He worked for a long time in a pair with Vasil Artamonov, with whom he won the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2010. He is mainly interested in the medium of painting, the concept of realism in 20th century art and the possibilities of realism today. As an illustrator he collaborates with a number of periodicals, publishing houses, cultural institutions and architectural studios. He lives and works in Prague.
