The series of paintings Fatal Attraction by Alžběta Krňanská works in juxtapositions with motifs of intertwined fragments of cars and AI-generated female figures. Krňanská's inspiration comes from David Cronenberg's cult and controversial film Crash. The work explores the intimate and ambivalent relationship between a woman and her corporeality (the "object of desire") and the symbol of "petromodernity", i.e. the luxury automobile, i.e.

The paintings are framed by patchwork constructions of reassembled monochromes, created with irritating colours evoking the metallic surface of cars. These frames bring textile techniques traditionally associated with women's domestic labour into direct contact with the sleek, industrial aesthetic of automotive design. The contrast highlights the tension between softness and hardness, craft and technology, intimacy and spectacle. Through these contrasts, in her Fatal Attraction series Alžběta Krňanská explores how automobiles function not only as utilitarian machines, but also as fetishized objects of affection, violence, and identity formation in contemporary culture.
