Zlatka and Hanuš Lamr – We Are in the Garden
21. 03. 2026 - 28. 09. 2026
Mezi Mosty 436, 530 03 Pardubice
The monographic exhibition of Anna Zemánková (1908–1986) will present her work in a new perspective that departs from the traditional perception of the artist as a representative of art brut. The project places her work in a broader art historical context and connects it with the work of contemporary artists and with selected works from the collection of the Gočár Gallery.
The exhibition will offer a cross-section of Anna Zemánková's entire oeuvre, from early large-scale drawings on paper, through collages of painted paper or satin cut-outs, to later works combining painting, embroidery, beading and textile applications. It will show the evolution of her work from natural and organic motifs to abstract, ornamental and geometric compositions. Zemánková's inspiration came mainly from nature, Moravian folk costumes, Baroque architecture and the visual culture of the 1960s and 1970s.
The exhibition will include the publication of a two-volume monograph in collaboration with the ABCD association and the Kant publishing house, which will be published in both Czech and English.
