Christl Mudrak is a visual artist and initiator of interdisciplinary art and research projects. Her artistic practice encompasses expanded painting as well as site-related, immersive, performative, and participatory formats. Her work focuses on questions of perception, collective authorship, and the relationships between humans, animals, and plants. From 2007 to 2014, Mudrak taught expanded painting in the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich, at the Chair of Art and Architecture. She has also taught at various European universities and institutions, continuously developing her artistic and theoretical practice in the context of painting, architecture, and ecological concerns. Mudrak is the initiator of the Forest Research Platform, a long-term interdisciplinary art and research project at the intersection of art, ecology, and social transformation in the Krämerwald forest in Brandenburg. She is currently developing the research project Ohne Gewalt (Nonviolence) there, funded by the Stiftung Kunstfonds (2024–2026).
