We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition Mental Hygiene By a Cat , led by curator Jiří Ptáček.

According to rough estimates, there are between 600 million and one billion domestic cats in the world. They sleep on our couches and climb garden trees in an instinctive desire to catch birds. The question is, who are these other cats that so abundantly inhabit our shared digital space?

Bára Mrázková and Tereza Velíková tell the story of how our emotional relationship with these domestic felines has accelerated the development of audiovisual technologies. It’s as if the cat has always been present within them—as a test subject, material, strategy, or product.
