Ondřej Trhoň — Infrastructural horror: Uncovering what is hidden beneath the modernist fairy tale
Monsters come to life, but they are not (only) werewolves or demons. Rather, they are the processes that sustain our everyday lives — systems that, under the guise of normality and smoothness, reproduce power structures and enact violence.
In this performative lecture, we will move from hidden back rooms into oil refineries and beneath oil wells, exploring viscous networks and structures. Can contemporary aesthetics create a counterpoint to the illusion through which we experience our everyday lives?
The lecture will be held in Czech.
The lecture will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition Bleed Through with curator Zuzana-Markéta Macková in Czech/English.
