How can restored paths improve landscape connectivity, provide safe travel for pedestrians and cyclists, and at the same time promote greenery, biodiversity, and a more pleasant microclimate?
Paths are not just connections between places, but also a reflection of how the landscape and the city have evolved over the centuries. The Prague metropolitan area is home to more than 3,500 km of abandoned historic paths. During a bike ride of approximately 20 km, we’ll explore parts of these routes and see where they used to lead, how they can be recognized today, and why it makes sense to consider restoring them.
Together, we’ll take a look at the plans and projects that are transforming Prague’s landscape and restoring forgotten connections as well as creating new possibilities for movement.
