What changes are needed for the square to function sustainably and become a high-quality public space?

A guided tour with Lenka Hubáčková will take you through Jiří z Poděbrad Square, from the visible changes to the layers hidden beneath the pavement. She’ll explain how the revitalization project works with trees, shade, rainwater, and the flow of people. What does it mean to design a place where a market is set up and a mass is held in the morning, where the metro, trams, and buses pass through during the day, and where, in the evening, a space for gathering, relaxation, and neighborhood life emerges?

Even before the actual tour of the square, we’ll use maps and a model to familiarize ourselves with its spatial layout and the significant buildings in the vicinity. Radek Seifert from ELSA, the center for supporting students with special needs at the Czech Technical University in Prague, will introduce you to the tactile maps. A tactile model of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will allow you to better explore one of the square’s most striking landmarks through touch.

The public meeting point is at 9:40 a.m. in the underground concourse of the Jiřího z Poděbrad Metro Station (Line A), near the upper exit of the escalators. The walk will take place primarily outdoors.
