Compañero with hat holding rifle. Empty street of prairie town. Man lighting a cigarette with a match. A famous tune. The good, the bad and the civilized. A herd of gentlemen and ladies with an advanced spiritual and material culture. Their colts shoot representative democracy, free market, university and street lights into the landscape.

We invite you to a live performance accompanying the premiere of the complete audiovisual series Wild Wild Beast.

Wild Wild Beast is a four-part video series co-produced with the online contemporary art platform ArtycokTV. It is the result of a collaboration between the D'epog collective and filmmaker Maria Šprincl and set designer Matěj Sýkora. On the basis of a horror acid-western, it thematizes the collapse of Western civilization. The fictitious documentary self-referential framework of the actors' backstage life is interspersed with a trash retro-aesthetic, through which this cinematic mini-work poses the question of where the limits of humanity lie and what distinguishes the institution of man from the atrocities he is capable of committing.

The cycle, which was screened in the cinema-situation exhibition interface at Kontext Gallery (TIC) in 2024 and presented in Prague as part of the Kino GAVU screening series in 2025, cites a "B-grade" sci-fi aesthetic and presents a deconstructed story of what becomes of a man who behaves "like an animal".
