This year, the festival will focus on sustainable nudity. The fundamental way to safeguard work involving nudity – and artistic freedom in general – is through education and building resilience. At this year’s Festival of Naked Forms, we are focusing precisely on education. The festival has become a unique convergence of several activities that involve sharing experiences of working with the body and nudity.

We will kick off the festival with a five-day session of the Normies Study Group, led by artists Matilde Flor Ubinger and Rúben R., on the theme of Objectification. The highlight will be a three-hour group performance to close the festival on Sunday 6 September.

FNAF will also host the Summer School of Critical Work with Nudity, organised by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology for students from overseas institutions. Among the performing artists, we will also see performances by emerging artists from Poland, Slovakia and Spain.

A group of Ukrainian and Czech artists, who are exploring how performance can build resilience, will contribute two workshops. These artist-led workshops will be the result of their collaborative work during a residency at Nová Perla in Kyjov near Krásná Lípa.

The programme of artist-led performances will be complemented by regular discussion circles.
