This workshop is a unique approach to video projection, in which the image becomes a tangible object or a partner for a dialogue.

We will learn a strategy to have a concrete relationship with a nonmaterial substance (the image of a projection), we will focus on expanding our concept of video composition, we will use no digital effects, we will apply the “hand made” access by projecting videos into different objects and dimensions, interacting with them with our body and re-filming this actions, we will design either video-live actions or video pieces to be screened in specific places.

No previous experience or knowledge required, you just need to bring your curiosity and interest in playing with image and meaning. Preferably, bring your own video camera device with output cables AV, synch or USB, helpful if you have a computer where you can make basic cutting edition (but it is not necessary).

Workshop is for max. 5 participants.

Cristina Maldonado (* 1974) is a Mexican artist whose background in body movement lends a unique approach to her visual and conceptual experiments with video, sound, collage and performance. Her work unifies experimental theatre, dance, participatory art, new and old media. Her topics are body, communication and intimacy. She creates experiential frames connecting installation, video and live action.
