"I'm busy" is the most obligatory and supreme argument by which we define our own autonomy, individualized existence, and importance. How many times have we heard it, how many times have we uttered it ourselves with relief or, conversely, with disgust or just mechanically. What it means to "be busy" is also touched upon in the dialogue between Martin Piaček and Lucie Tkáčová about their relationship to their own artistic work. It hints at the changing constellations of professional demands, time-conditioned and individually felt recognition, routine, subsistence and rest. In the dialogue between Martin and Lucie, as long-practising artists on the Slovak, Czech and international scene, the generational affinity and contradictions of individual creative approaches resonate.
