The exhibition series Interface presents the current work of doctoral students from the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art in Pilsen at the Inkubátor Gallery.

The four projects on display explore various themes and approaches to artistic research. Michal Poustka explores, through photography, augmented reality, and virtual reality, the relationships between seeing, perceiving, and thinking, as well as the potential of digital technologies to foster a deeper experience of the present. Zuzana Votrubcová is working on an inclusive navigation system for Václav Havel Airport Prague and is exploring ways in which graphic design can make wayfinding accessible to diverse groups of travelers. Dajana Kaska explores the principles of an accessible, predictable, and welcoming exhibition environment. Michaela Šimonová combines her own photography and drawing with historical and iconographic research on the depiction of biblical women and its significance for contemporary understandings of femininity, identity, and social roles.

The exhibition is not a closed presentation of finished results. On the contrary, it itself becomes a space for experimentation and testing, in which individual approaches, principles, and questions can be confronted with the specific environment and the visitors. Here, a work of art is not merely the result of cognition, but also its instrument.

Interface thus offers a glimpse into a process in which creation becomes a means of cognition and the exhibition itself one of the places where research continues.
