Křížek tried to capture the human figure, the origin of man, his position in the world; not an imitation but genuine. Although he soon achieved success — his works were exhibited alongside those of Brancusi, Duchamp, Dubuffet, Picasso and Giacometti in Paris — at the pinnacle of his career, he withdrew to the countryside with his wife. Instead continuing his artistic work, he devoted himself to beekeeping.
