Map

Rather than working with the body as a whole, Kateřina Vincourová works with parts of the body that connect us to the world. The neck is not free-standing; it joins and holds. The navel is not the centre but what was left of the centre, which was here before we were. A finger does not point but verifies that the world is still here. The eye makes things manifest. A flower remains a mystery. The galaxy can fit inside the body if we just stop measuring.
