The current body of artworks by Dagmar Šubrtová (*1973) reports on the long-term experience/thinking of several relevant themes and makes visible the intensity of their content. These are primarily an interest in the visible and sub-surface transformations of places due to human industrial interventions and an awareness of the regenerative capacities of these sites as a result of the powerful principle of unity/synthesis of polarities. Both content lines resonate with the environment and surroundings of Synagoga na Palmovce. The artist lets the experience of exploring matter affected by the relationship to nature as a resource of extraction resound in the space in an existential expression. The morphology captures the architecture, the essence of plant organisms, of materials that have served their original purpose. She has also incorporated natural elements from the synagogue's surroundings into the current installation. It refers to its character of a certain hybridity and uprootedness, as natural results of social processes. However, she works with an openness to this agency that makes her installation, in a general sense, a temporary record of the continuity of qualitative change in matter and consciousness.
